About Penrose Place

Penrose Place was built on friendship, creativity, and a slightly cheeky sense of humour.

Tom and I have always surrounded ourselves with wonderfully alternative people — friends who wanted gifts that were bold, inclusive, funny, and a little different from anything you would normally find on the high street. We wanted to create those products and bring those ideas to life.

The first spark came during an unexpected night out. We had been invited along to a friend of my sister's hen do and, while slightly tipsy at a stripper show, we spotted a small selection of naughty novelty gifts. That was the moment the idea began: what if we created our own range of playful, memorable gifts with better quality, more personality, and a genuinely inclusive heart?

Our creative journey actually started back in 2003 as a small vegan and organic soap business. Over the years, we have grown, experimented, and evolved into the alternative gift shop you see today — creating everything from beautifully scented handmade products to bold accessories, cheeky novelties, and gifts that are definitely not for the faint-hearted.

Everything we create is produced in small batches with care, creativity, and a strong focus on quality and sensory appeal. We want our products to make you smile, start conversations, and occasionally make your friends wonder what on earth you have bought them.
